The Company

Founded in 1957, Ence Group is one of Europe’s leading companies in the production of sustainable pulp and renewable biomass energy. Operating in Spain, the company combines responsible forest management, renewable product manufacturing, and clean energy generation through a business model focused on the circular economy. (Ence) As a leader in sustainability and industrial innovation, Ence continues to advance its digital transformation by optimizing operations, improving process efficiency, and strengthening collaboration across its business units. The company continuously invests in modernizing its digital platforms to accelerate decision-making and support a business model built on sustainability and operational excellence.

The Challenge

The company needed to drive the digital transformation of its logistics processes to achieve end-to-end traceability of timber transportation and distribution to its industrial plants. Operations relied on manual processes and fragmented information, making it difficult to track deliveries, access information in a timely manner, and monitor field activities.

The Solution

We conducted a consulting engagement to analyze and digitize operational workflows, followed by the development of a native mobile application for iOS and Android, integrated with the Amazon Web Services (AWS S3) cloud infrastructure.

The application included digital delivery note management, advanced electronic signatures, PDF and photo capture, QR code generation, and geolocated map and satellite views. It was also designed to operate both online and offline, allowing users to capture information in the field and synchronize it with the central platform once connectivity was restored.

Benefits

  • End-to-end digitization of the logistics process with complete operational traceability.
  • Centralized, easily accessible information through a web dashboard with customized filters.
  • Continuous operations through offline functionality in areas with limited connectivity.
  • Faster incident management throughout logistics operations.
  • Improved team communication through an internal messaging system with push notifications.
